As part of the RYA National Match Racing Series 2017, NSSA are invited to enter teams into the "Schools Championship" event on 2nd and 3rd December at Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy.

The event will be sailed in Elliot 6M boats, with eight teams of three or four sailors, up to a maximum combined weight of 260kgs. Sailors must be over the age of 14 on the start date of the event and in full time secondary education.

 

The cost of entry is £110 per person, which includes half board accommodation. Each team has to send £500 deposit cheque with their entry.

Sailors must have an adult to be responsible for them; one adult could be responsible for a team. Non competitor adults will be charged £100 per person. Accommodation space is limited and will be on a shared basis.

Initially, one team per club or association will be allowed one entry.  A second team per club or association may be allowed if eight teams have not booked by the entry deadline date, which is 1st November 2017.

Parents must complete the Parent Guardian declaration form and return it before registration at the event.

Registration will be at 6.30pm on Friday 1st December; briefing will be at 8pm on Friday 1st Deember; first race will be at 10am on Saturday 2nd December. Teams who have not sailed a keelboat before will be required to do some training on the Saturday morning, before racing starts. Practice may be available on the afternoon prior to the first day of the event.
