NYR Plymouth 2021 - update from the event organisers (May 2021)
The following update has been releasd by our event organisers along with the NOR which can be find on the event website (www.nssa-plymouth.org.uk):
Dear Members of NSSA, PYS and the whole sailing community.
Following the recent positive developments in COVID-19 pandemic and the slow easing of precautions that have been put in place by the Government, the organising committee of the NSSA 2021 National Youth Regatta in Plymouth would wish to keep you informed of our current progress.
Whilst we are confident that we are able to deliver the on water elements of the Regatta, with the Notice of Race having been posted yesterday. The domestic arrangements have been particularly challenging. Camping is confirmed at the very large site of Albion Oaks Rugby Club, about 10 minutes from the sailing venue at Mount Batten.
Catering however has been impossible to arrange on site and for this reason the 2021 event will be Self-Catering on the camp site. We are currently looking at what facilities we can provide to support this process, possibly including gazebos for cooking within each team area, fridge facilities and also some take away options. I can confirm that the fee for camping will be £60 per person.
I am sorry that this is not at the same standard as you may have been expecting, but the situation is beyond our control. Further details will be published as they become available. There will inevitably be new challenges to face and arrangements may need to be adjusted at relatively short notice as we see where we are with social distancing and mitigation factors.
All decisions and information relating to the event will be published on both web sites and social media platforms as soon as further details become clear. But, at this stage, we would appreciate it if Team Mangers could email us with any updates on possible numbers attending, including projected number and type of boats and any volunteer help they are able to offer.

This has been a challenging time for us all, we ask everyone to keep safe and look forward to the great sailing we know is now returning to our clubs.

NYR Plymouth 2021 - update from the event organisers
Dear Members of NSSA, PYS and the whole sailing community.
Following the recent positive developments in COVID-19 pandemic and the slow easing of precautions that have been put in place the Government, the organising committee of the NSSA 2021 National Youth Regatta in Plymouth would wish to keep you informed of our current progress.
With most of the planning and some of the preparation for the event in 2020 having already been completed, we are now confident that the event can take place between 25th and 31st July 2021.Sailing details will remain much the same, but final details around camping and food options are still being finalised. Entry fees for single handed/person with Early Bird Discount are anticipated to be £155 per person for the regatta and £180 for camping. This is subject to finalisation and represents a slight increase in costs, based on additional space and cleaning requirements, but we are working to limit this as much as possible.
There will inevitably be new challenges to face and arrangements may need to be adjusted at relatively short notice as we see where we are with social distancing and mitigation factors, but please be assured that we will do everything in our power to hold the event BUT not at the expense of the Health and Safety of competitors, volunteers or parents, all of whom make this event possible.
All decisions and information relating to the event will be published on both web sites and social media platforms as soon as final details become clearer. But, at this stage, we would appreciate it if Team Mangers could email us with an initial expression of interest, including projected number and type of boats and preferred catering options.
