The 2018 NSSA AGM will be taking place at Datchet Water Sailing Club, Queen Mother Reservoir, Horton Road, Horton, Slough, SL3 9NT, on Tuesday 24th July, at around 8pm. The AGM has been arranged to take place during one of the evenings of our largest event - the National Regatta - so that competitors, team managers and parents can all get involved. Please come along and see what has been going on behind the scenes at the NSSA!
The draft agenda is attached below.
This year, the NSSA, along with the Merlin Rocket Owners Association, are pleased to once again be able to offer the opportunity for several young sailors from the NSSA to attend the Merlin Rocket National Championships. This is a great opportunity for young sailors from the NSSA to get to try out a new boat, compete in a different environment, and expand their sailing experience.
As part of the RYA National Match Racing Series 2017, NSSA are invited to enter teams into the "Schools Championship" event on 2nd and 3rd December at Weymouth and Portland Sailing Academy.
The event will be sailed in Elliot 6M boats, with eight teams of three or four sailors, up to a maximum combined weight of 260kgs. Sailors must be over the age of 14 on the start date of the event and in full time secondary education.
This year, the NSSA, in partnership with the Merlin Rocket Owners Association (MROA), sent three teams to the Merlin Rocket National Championships in Pwllheli. Feedback from all corners has been really positive, and both the NSSA and the MROA are pleased to announce that this opportunity will be running again in 2018.
